More than just a record of the past,
COVID-19 Nation Dates provides an invaluable resource for those considering ways to prepare Aotearoa New Zealand for future pandemics.
Join 24 hours of conversations about possible worl Join 24 hours of conversations about possible worlds of tomorrow 🌏

1. All Voices – March 1st, 12pm NZT

World Futures Day is hosted by The Millennium Project every year, to spark a global conversation on the future. Beginning March 1st in New Zealand at 12 noon, the open conversation on how to build a better future will move west each hour. Anyone can join in at 12 noon their time or any other time that is convenient, and join futurists and others to explore possibilities for our common future.

2. Young Voices – March 1st, 5pm NZT

The Institute is also a great fan of Teach the Future – a global non-profit movement that promotes ‘futures literacy’ as a life skill for students and educators, founded by Peter Bishop. They are hosting a side event called World Futures Day – Young Voices particularly for people aged 25 and younger. If this sounds like you do check it out!

For the past nine years on World Futures Day, global thought leaders have shared their views about future global issues – including COVID-19, governing the transition to Artificial General Intelligence, living in space, inventing future work, reducing climate change, giving rights to the living planet, guaranteeing safe water and energy, developing future forms of democracy, countering information warfare, incorporating futures generations and global ethics in decision-making and more.

Who knows what will be discussed this year? 💭🧠🌱

On March 1st, you can join Zoom (at no cost) for the Around the World 24-Hour Conversation on the Future by visiting bit.ly/WorldFuturesDay2023

#worldfuturesday #WFD
Join us on Wednesday, 22 February from 5.00pm – Join us on Wednesday, 22 February from 5.00pm – 6.00pm to hear Professor Girol Karacaoglu speak about the Brief to the Incoming Government (BIG Ideas for short), followed by refreshments 🧠

The year 2023 provides an excellent opportunity for the Institute to collate and share a few BIG ideas for politicians, political parties, policy analysts and others to discuss, consider and reflect on in advance of the upcoming election. To be a BIG idea, the suggestion must be novel, practical, actionable, scalable, have a strategic impact and position the country well for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Availability will be limited to 60 people, but the event will be recorded and published on YouTube. Register for free for the in-person event or attend via zoom with the link in our bio! All welcome 💫

A big thank you to our patrons for their thoughts, ideas and guidance!
